Was tested and working. However batteries would have to be taped in order for them to stay in.
This was mine growing up, and it worked on batteries way back then. I never had the battery cover for it or the cord to plug it in, so I don't know if that part ever worked. We always do our best to look over every item thoroughly and list the flaws if there are any.
